Change Starts With Us

Sometimes in life it feels like there is no hope

But thats a lie that we all tell ourselves

The truth is brighter days are always ahead

I know there were storms in your life, that were much worse than what you currently are facing

For some this might be the worst of the worst

On the real, I understand this 100%

I’ve been there

I thought it was over

The dark place had me in constant fear

But I overcame

Of course it’s going to come and go

That is life

It is all about how we respond

It may take longer for you than it will for the next person

But none of that matters

You take that one day at a time

My dark valley, brought others there with them

It it was never anything that I really wanted

I had to do better

I got to do better

Theres no way this can keep going

These are battles that I faced in my head daily

Now i’m just in a state of grace

The truth is,  I didn’t have it so bad afterall

One you realize that

That Is when the mindset shifts

I had a change of perspective on another level

Now I truly am grateful just to have everything that I have in life

I’m blessed

I get to wake up every single day to a beautiful family

Some people do not have this privilege

How could I ever take things for granted

God saved me and for that I give him my heart

It taught me what to truly appreciate in life

Material things come and go but family is everything

Every single day I get to wake up with a shelter over my head is simply a privilege

Sometimes in life it's the things that we see daily that we are just used to that you don’t even realize you are taking for granted

We are just so used to doing these said things that we don’t think twice

I used to be like that but now I see things differently

If you actually want better in life, you have to start treating others better, including yourself

After all, how do you expect change if you aren’t willing to make the change yourself

And that can go for anything

Personally, I’ve faced many battles, especially from my car accident back in 06.

I had to live a new life.

My left foot really got worse out of it.

Having to relearn how to have two different feet especially for someone  my age who is supposed to be at the prime of his life. 18 years old.  It’s not a normal 18 year old problem so nobody related.  (I haven’t checked but i’d assume that in this day in age, It’s much easier for disabled people to connect and find a place somewhere where people can relate too.)

I Had to learn how to just accept it.

At Least i’m able to walk, it could be alot worse.

That may have taken me the longest to learn grace in that situation especially since this particular problem keeps coming back but everybody has a change in perspective in their own way.

At the end of the day, we can all make better of our situations if we treat our bodies better.  It always starts with us.  It starts by the way we treat each other.  That's how we can make change.  It doesn’t matter who you are or what you've been through.  There is always a way to make it through.  One day at a time. We all can learn from each other in one way or the other.  I’m just here to help those who live with the battles they face in life and share what has helped me.
